THE RURAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME AIMS TO :

• • Help the entire village become a model village.
• • Inspire the village community to take charge of their own destiny and future.
• • Make a genuine difference to their way of living, thinking and being.
• • Research new and creative ideas to develop a sustainable, scalable and replicable model.
• • Yalavatti Village in Gadag District has been chosen as an experimental village and steady progress has been made in terms of facilities
•   since 2005. Sri Aurobindo Society Branch here, has already started activities in this directionand has become nodal centre for local
•   youths. The school established caters for the local village and also to the villages surrounding. There are about 300 children studying in
•   the school.
• • During evening hours, free coaching classes for rural girls are held in computer training, core science subjects etc.
• • Drinking water well in the village has been restored using rain water harvesting techniques. As a result of which drinking water is
•   available to the villagers during most period of the year.
• • Construction of Multi-purpose hall (Ground Floor + First Floor) almost getting completed as planned along with store cum kitchen unit
•   attached to it.
